Pursuing the Dream Foundation, Inc. Partners with Google to Offer Google Career Certificate Scholarships
Pursuing the Dream Foundation, Inc. is thrilled to announce its partnership with Google’s Grow with Google initiative to offer Google Career Certificate Scholarships. These certificates provide individuals with the opportunity to prepare for entry-level positions in high-demand fields such as cybersecurity, data analytics, digital marketing & e-commerce, IT support, project management, and user experience (UX) design—without the need for a college degree or relevant experience.
The Google Career Certificate program, launched by Grow with Google in 2018, aims to support skilling for in-demand fields by providing accessible and flexible online training. These certificates can be completed within 3-6 months of part-time study and are designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to succeed in today’s digital economy. Furthermore, the program includes an employer consortium of over 150 companies, including Walmart, Verizon, and Google, committed to considering graduates for relevant entry-level roles.
The impact of the Google Career Certificate program has been significant, with over 500,000 people globally (200,000 in the U.S.) graduating from the program. Seventy-five percent of graduates report a positive career impact, such as securing a new job, receiving higher pay, or earning a promotion, within six months of completion. Additionally, over half of U.S. graduates identify as Asian, Black, or Latino, and thirty-five percent come from the lowest income strata in the country, earning under $30K a year and are upskilling to fields with median incomes of $76k.
